The Printing Charity – Why
Given that we now live in a welfare state you may well ask why there is a need for an organisation such as The Printing Charity. Surely people who have fallen on hard times can turn to the State for help? That is true to a great extent but the State cannot provide all that is needed.
For instance people on incapacity benefit or state pension often do not have the capital required to fund basic repairs to roofs and boilers, pay for fridges and cookers or invest in much needed wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Our One-Off Grants and Regular Financial Assistance can make a huge difference to the quality of life experienced by our beneficiaries. Our sheltered apartments can make life for the elderly more comfortable and enjoyable whilst our bursaries to young people for education and training mean that the people starting their careers in print have the necessary skills to meet the needs of an ever changing printing, publishing and graphic arts industry.
