How do I apply for a grant?
Please fill out and return the completed application form to us.
How long will my application take?
We aim to acknowledge all applications within five days of receipt and we then aim to assess all cases within 15 working days. How long it takes overall is determined by many factors and, as all cases are individual, we cannot give prescribed completion timescales.

Are there deadlines for sending in my application?
We do not have deadlines for sending in applications as they are reviewed on a case by case basis throughout the year.
Will my application be dealt with as a priority?
All grants are decided at the end of each month by our grants committee so we are unable to award funds until the committee has met to determine the outcome of each application. Funds are usually then paid to successful applicants in the following week. We deal with applications in strict number order according to when they were received by us. Each case is allocated a number and dealt with in number order.
Are there limits on the amounts that I can apply for?
Yes there are limits for each specific grant category. Please see our grants guidance.
We are unable to award grants over these limits.
Can I apply online?

If I am declined for a grant, can I apply again?
This depends upon the reason for the decline. We will always try to give a reason and advise all unsuccessful applicants if and when they may apply again.
Can I apply for a grant to cover costs that I have already incurred?
In some cases we can make grants for items or work already purchased. Please contact our Grants Officer for more information before applying.

Are there geographical restrictions on who can apply for a grant?
Yes there are. If you are resident in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland you may apply for a grant if you meet the other grant specific criteria. For people living abroad or not having the right to reside permanently in Great Britain, please contact our Welfare team to discuss your situation before making an application. Once approved, can my regular financial assistance be stopped?
Payments will stop if you are no longer eligible.
