A fantastic day at the picnic in The Mall

Our Home Managers, Kathy Senior and Margaret Duff, were two of the 10,000 people who braved the weather to attend the picnic in The Mall, the largest ever street party to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday and her patronage of over 600 charities and organisations, one of which is The Printing Charity.

Kathy says: “Despite the weather, it was a fantastic day and it was an honour to represent The Printing Charity at the Patron’s Lunch. I felt very emotional being there on the charity’s behalf.”

“You could feel the sense of occasion,” adds Margaret. “It was a very special day and the highlight, of course, was seeing the Queen and members of the Royal Family in The Mall.”

Residents at our two sheltered homes, Beaverbrook House and Southwood Court, also held celebrations and raised a glass to wish Her Majesty a very happy birthday.
