Winner of The Print Show voucher design competition announced

Melanie Edwards, who is studying BA (Hons) Graphic and Communication Design at Leeds University and was a 2015 Print Futures Awards winner, has won first prize in the competition run by The Printing Charity and Print Monthly to design a voucher to be used at The Print Show.
Paula Caffrey and Keir Mucklestone-Barnett, both winners of a Print Futures Award this year, were runners-up with their design entries.
Melanie Edwards says: “I’m surprised, excited and very grateful that The Printing Charity and Print Monthly selected my design as the winner of this competition. I have a passion for print and tactile handmade design so when I saw that the brief was to demonstrate ‘the beauty of print and how its tactile and tangible quality really can affect those who engage with it’, I knew I had to get involved!”
Entrants were invited to design a voucher for The Print Show, which celebrates the beauty and tactile quality of print and be functional, giving visitors access to ‘eat all you like’ at the Pick and Mix counter on Print Monthly’s stand. Every visitor to The Printers’ Bazaar zone on the first morning of The Print Show will receive a voucher.
Neil Lovell, Chief Executive and Secretary of The Printing Charity, says:  “I loved the fact that it was a real design brief and a way for The Printing Charity to help young talent gain practical work experience. The standard of entries was very high, so congratulations to Melanie, Paula and Keir.”
