2021 Rising Star Awards Celebration

We are delighted to be able to celebrate this years’ Rising Stars on Wednesday 23rd June from 4pm-6pm.

Join us online and bring along a drink as we raise a glass to congratulate all recipients on their awards.

We will also be hearing from several guest speakers, covering a range of topics that we hope will help and inspire the next generation – from social media and networking, to career journeys and mentoring.

Joanne Butcher is Chief Executive of the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ), the industry’s charity that delivers training scheme for journalists in the UK. Joanne began her career in marketing and moved into her first training role at the Newspaper Society. She then joined the Periodical Publishers Association as Director of the Periodicals Training Council. Before joining the NCTJ, Joanne was Chief Executive of the Publishing National Training Organisation.

Ella holds a BA Hons in Social and Cultural Studies and was previously a Director at Shift, a social product design agency, where she was named one of Nesta and The Observer’s 50 New Radicals. Claire studied Environmental Science and has over ten years’ communications experience for corporates and the third sector. She holds a CIM diploma in Digital Marketing, and is an accomplished copywriter and editor. Together, Ella and Claire run creative marketing agency Good Beans, helping organisations working to tackle challenges in health, wellbeing, sustainability and inequality.

David began his print journey in 2006 when he joined K2 to work in their planning department. A number of acquisitions then lead him to Paragon Customer Communications and, having progressed to the role of Site Director at Paragon Dagenham, he is now responsible for the day-to-day operation of one of the UK’s largest print production facilities. A keen advocate of talent development, he plays a key role in the Paragon Apprentice Academy and intern programmes.
