Rising Stars

Jessica started at Citipost Mail at 18, more than a decade ago, and has moved through a variety of roles finding her perfect niche within the Client Services team. Recently she’s also worked as a business specialist as maternity cover before being promoted to her current position.
She’s currently working on her CMI Level 5 in leadership and management and plans to spend her award on the Level 7 course. Jessica believes this will help her develop her skills for herself, her team and the business, as well as allowing her to mentor individuals to keep up the momentum and showcase the great channel of direct mail.

Peter works at Reach’s production plant in Cardonald, Glasgow, having started his career there with a modern apprenticeship at the age of 18 and completed two HNCs in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

He enjoys the day-to-day problem-solving nature of his current role, seeking innovative solutions that minimise the impact on the environment and streamline the operation without impacting employees or the final product.

He plans to use his award to develop his understanding of management and finance as well as gaining leadership skills in a structured way and will take a course in Leadership and Management Finance for non-Financial Managers. He believes this will help him learn how to manage effectively and efficiently, while ensuring that he can also empower people to give their best.

Ronan has worked at CPI William Clowes for the last six years, starting as a Lithographic Press Apprentice at the age of 17. For the past two years he has worked as a No.1 Printer, and was recently promoted to Deputy Shift Operations Manager, which involves covering for key managers across all departments whenever there is absence on the Factory Floor.

Over the next five years, he aims to acquire the skills to manage both people and processes as well as greater training on financial management issues across the print sector. He wants to spend his award on the ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership & Management, which he hopes will improve both his management skills and help him build stronger working relationships with colleagues.

Tori has worked for Signs Express for 12 years, starting as an apprentice and rising to her current role as Production Manager, via time as a sign maker and fitter.

Her Rising Star Award will be spent on a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

This will give her the skills she needs to be able to manage efficiently and to lead and manage individuals and teams to deliver aims and objectives in line with the company’s overall strategy.
