Welfare & Wellbeing
Our aim in to provide relief from the effects of financial hardship, poor health and distress.
The Printing Charity is here to help make life better for people working in or connected to printing, publishing, packaging, and the graphic arts. As the only dedicated charity for people in the printing sector, we’re here to help you navigate through life’s challenges.
We offer practical and emotional support when needed. This is delivered through regular and one-off financial grants for people in crisis, signposting to specialist services, and supporting residents in 72 apartments at our two sheltered home developments, offering a safe and friendly community for print people to stay independent in retirement.
How we help
We take a holistic view of an individual’s situation when someone contacts us, taking time to look at their needs and how best to provide help, whether that is practical advice and guidance, regular or one-off grants or a combination of all these things.
“I cannot thank you all very much for your kindness and help, for the fantastic carpet and cooker that you so kindly gave me the grants for. My heartfelt thanks to you all.”
We can help people of all ages who:
Work or have worked for at least three years, not necessarily consecutively or for the same employer, in printing, paper, publishing, packaging, graphic arts or the allied trades.
Are a dependant of someone who has worked for at least three years in printing, paper, publishing, packaging, graphic arts or the allied trades.
If you are on a low income, you may eligible for regular financial assistance (RFA), which is paid twice a year for essential living costs, following reassessment of circumstances.
Our one-off grants support independent living so you can stay in your own home, as well as help with essential day-to-day expenditure.
To apply for support, please download and complete an application form from the links below and return to us by email or post. Guidance notes will help you through the form but please contact us if you have any questions.
