These rising stars are responsible for the inputs, operations, and outputs of their organisations, and we are delighted to support them with vital equipment and core skills training.

Lewis Finan

Coming from generations of journalists, Lewis has grown up with newspapers. Coupled with a keen interest for how the presses work, printing was the perfect fit for him. Starting at DC Thompson four years ago as a cleaner, Lewis is now into his second year as an apprentice engineer. Motivated by the important work he does, he is helping to keep the industry thriving. Through electronic and engineering courses with Reed, Lewis now looks to completing his apprenticeship and becoming a full time engineer.

Mason Kane

Mason Kane

Mason has always known he wanted to be an engineer and was attracted to Paragon after seeing the diversity and scope of their work. He has now embarked on an apprenticeship whilst he studies for his Engineering NVQ Level 3, keeping true to his love of mechanics and machinery. Mason hopes to become a Senior Engineer in future, with later ambitions of becoming an Engineering Manager.

After a family friend arranged a visit to HQP, he was determined to work in the electrical control systems industry. Mitchell now works for HQP as a Night Production Electrical Technician, working on titles such as the Daily Mail, Metro and The I newspapers. He is now focusing on a Siemens Step 7 PLC Control training course, helping him to improve as a technician.

He currently works as a Health, Safety and Environmental Officer at Graphic Packaging International, where he is passionate about ensuring everyone’s safety. With no two days the same, he never fears for his job getting boring. Now looking at his NCRQ Level 6 Diploma, he would like to become a Health and Safety Manager within the next two years.

Hayley Walker

Hayley Walker

Hayley’s first step into print was at a local self-adhesive material manufacturer. Progressing to Area Sales Manager, she came into contact with Amberley Labels and when a sales role became available with them, she jumped at the chance. Now, she is an Area Manager within their sales team. Hayley chose the label industry as she likes how every brand her their own style, giving products a true transformation with just a label. With no plans to leave Amberley, Hayley is focused on becoming a Sales Manager, and will be training via Reed and LinkedIn.
